زمینه و هدف: افتادگی دریچه میترال (MVP) شایع‌ترین علت نارسایی اولیه میترال است و با تغییرات همودینامیک، کاهش ظرفیت ورزشی، افزایش خستگی و کاهش کیفیت زندگی همراه است. هدف این مطالعه بررسی اثر تمرین ترکیبی هوازی و تنفسی برحاصلضرب ضربان-فشارخون(RPP)، ظرفیت عملکرد ورزشی (VO₂peak)، کیفیت زندگی و خستگی چند بعدی (MF) در زنان مبتلا بهMVP  بود.
روش تحقیق: در این کارآزمایی بالینی، ۳۰ زن جوان با نارسایی خفیف تا متوسط دریچه میترال به کمک مولد توالی تصادفی (وب) به دو گروه تمرین (۱۵ نفر) و کنترل (۱۵ نفر) تقسیم شدند. گروه تمرین، 12 هفته، سه بار در هفته و هر بار 70-45 دقیقه، با شدت 30-20 ضربه بالاتر از ضربان قلب استراحت کنترل شده با ضربان سنج مچی و میزان درک فشار بورگ 14-11 به تمرینات هوازی و تنفسی پرداختند. گروه کنترل به فعالیتهای عادی خود ادامه دادند. متغیرها در دو مرحله پیش و پس از مداخله ارزیابی شدند.
یافته‌ها: گروه تمرین در مقایسه با گروه کنترل، افزایش در VO2peak (008/0=P) و کیفیت زندگی (001/0=P) و از طرفی کاهش در فشارخون دیاستولی (009/0=P)، ضربان قلب استراحت (043/0=P) و MF (004/0=P) نشان داد. RPP و فشارخون سیستولی تغییر معناداری نشان نداد
نتیجه‌گیری: به‌کارگیری تمرینات ترکیبی هوازی و تنفسی به‌ عنوان یک مداخله سالم در سبک زندگی می‌تواند به ارتقای کیفیت زندگی، کاهش خستگی و افزایش ظرفیت هوازی بیماران مبتلا به MVP کمک کند. با این حال، به نظر می‌رسد، بررسی دقیق شاخص‌RPP همراه با تغییرات فشارخون سیستولی نیازمند مطالعات تکمیلی در شرایط استراحت و حین تست‌های ورزشی باشد.
