Abstract
Tuberculosis is one of the priorities of the World Health Organization of which millions of people in the world die annually. For the control and eradication of the disease, in addition of strategies like treatment of patients and identification of those with drug-resistant TB, We also need to detect the source of infection and track the disease’s transmission manner. Molecular epidemiology is one of the most important means to achieve this goal. The present study aimed at declaring the need of molecular identification and differentiation between strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, as one of the TB control strategies.

Abstract
Clinical education can be taken as a facilitating activity for learning in the clinical settings in which students gain experiences from patients’ bedside and apply their previously learned concepts through their interactions with their teachers and routine works. Clinical education provides an opportunity for students to transform their theoretical knowledge into diverse intellectual and psychomotor skills essential to patient care.
The evaluation process of teaching and learning is one of the noticeable activities in educational institutions because the training of skilled and competent manpower, to a large extent, is dependent on this process. The use of modern educational techniques, increasing productivity, and ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of educational centers is the goal followed all over the world but, this is more emphasized in the field of medical sciences that are directly connected with maintaining and improving the health of people and society. This is why for more effectiveness of medical education applying new methods is necessitated.
One of the evaluated and structured methods focusing on learning experiences in education is “logbook”. Logbook is a simple means for learners, a framework for organizing various educational activities and recording them. One of the unique characteristics of a logbook is that it requires students acquire a certain number of skills. This causes the students to do their tasks as planned and objectively too; and thanks to repetition and practice they would prevent probable errors.
At present, a lot of clinical education aspects are different than in the past. Technology development, changes in the pattern of people’s lifestyle and higher exposure to environmental risk factors (Such as the development of chemical industry, natural or synthetic chemicals, biological agents including viruses and other microorganisms, behavioral factors including psychological stress and drug addiction) cause changes in the pattern of diseases in general and particularly in the domain of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Therefore, in accord with these changes, the graduates and scholars are expected to promote their skills and abilities. Since, identification and analysis of the effectiveness of educational needs are prerequisite for a successful educational system, revision and continuous reviewing of educational programs based on the possibilities, conditions, and new needs are inevitable.
Thus, the results of a study on 233 medical students passing their clinical stage (externs or interns) in Birjand University of Medical Sciences in the academic year 2016-2017 showed that 24.5% of them knew high or very high helpful completion of their log books activities in attaining of clinical wards skills and 74.5% expressed the necessity of reviewing available log books in clinical wards.
According to the obtained results the necessity of reviewing log books used in clinical wards of BUMS considering the latest clinical issues, diseases- including emerging and reemerging ones- and diagnostic -therapeutic methods in accordance with changes in diagnostic - therapeutic guidelines using the newest resources is critically felt.
Furthermore, due to the pervasive use of electronic log books in recent years in medical universities across the country that are in line with developments and innovations in medical education, it is recommended that the log books at this university too, should be presented and evaluated electronically. Electronic log books with ongoing record of activities and clinical techniques based on educational objectives, in addition to learning consolidation, determine unavailable measures to achieve clinical objectives and, thus, cause regular monitoring and evaluation on the part of students.

Abstract
The Venous thromboembolism (VTE), including venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism(PE) and one of the causes of death during the pregnancy. During the pregnancy, Multiple changes to the mother's coagulation system lead to high coagulation. The results have shown that approximately 1 in every 200-500 women during the pregnancy with venous thromboembolism and 30% in those with pulmonary embolism. During the third trimester of pregnancy, and especially during the first two weeks after childbirth, the risk of (VTE) increases in women. The risk of VTE after pregnancy is 5 times higher than that of the during pregnancy. Also, Pregnancy alone is a risk factor for VTE, And, besides, some women have a high risk of developing the VTE. The most important risk factors for VTE during pregnancy include the previous history of VTE, acquired thrombophilia, history of previous VTE due to major surgery, Medical problems (including cancer, heart disease, etc.), hereditary thrombophilia are high risk (Table 1).
Due to numerous clinical conditions and also the risks of an embryo and mother seeking anticoagulant therapy, management during pregnancy should be taken into consideration. Therefore, according to the latest instructions from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, it was decided to design the software in order to prevent the occurrence of VTE.

Abstract
Obesity is a complex multifactorial disease. The worldwide prevalence of obesity has doubled since 1980 to an extent that nearly a third of the world’s population is now classified as overweight or obese. On the other hand, sports scientists have suggested exercise for the prevention of further spread of this disease. In addition to exercise, the use of natural fat-burning supplements, such as green tea, has attracted a lot of attention during the recent years. However, the results of some domestic and foreign research have shown that fat-burning potential of white tea is the same or superior to that of green tea. Therefore, it is suggested that researchers compare green and white tea in terms of their effects on obesity-related indicators.

Abstract
The symptoms of COVID-19, caused by the newly known type of coronavirus, vary widely from asymptomatic, mild to severe respiratory infection leading to hospitalization or death of patients. To date, no specific drug has been reported for the treatment of patients affected by this virus. One of the approaches adopted for the treatment of this disease is the use of plasma therapy, which contains antibodies against the virus. Following of the plasma therapy have not been reported any serious side effects. Currently, the numbers of these studies are limited, and evaluation of the larger population studies can provide stronger evidence for treating physicians about the effectiveness of this therapeutic approach.

Abstract
From the earliest days of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) outbreaks, all countries have been trying to develop vaccines and medications to fight the virus. Finally, a year after the COVID-2019 pandemic, several companies developed vaccines that were safe against this disease. However, the lack of doses of these vaccines created problems for various countries. Ethically, some groups should be highly prioritized according to their need and necessity of receiving the vaccine. Based on the results of current studies, safe and effective vaccination can be effective for the elderly and patients with chronic diseases and prevent the death of such people extensively. Since the national vaccination in Iran has started on February 12, 2021, with the priority of the medical staff, it is necessary to pay more attention to the elderly and patients with chronic diseases in future planning regarding the COVID-19 vaccination.

Abstract
In evidence-based medicine, constructing research questions is the most important part of research integration. Formulating a research question is the first step to conducting a credible and valuable research. Patient, intervention, comparison, outcome (PICO) is a specialized framework used by most researchers to formulate a research question and facilitate resource review. In the heart ward of Razi Hospital, Birjand University of Medical Sciences, according to the needs assessments, PICO was implemented during the Journal Club to familiarize students with research and increase their level of knowledge, attitude, as well as clinical reasoning skills. In this article, we explain the case of a 36-year-old woman with typical chest pain for 3 hours due to severe stress, without cardiac risk factors referring to the emergency room. The clinical examination was normal. The ST elevation was observed in the aVR lead. The question is “Should we perform an invasive intervention for this patient?

Abstract
Among the types of migration, the migration of expert human resources is one of the most challenging for the immigrant sender countries. With the outbreak of COVID-19 worldwide, the importance of medical staff and the need for providing sufficient human resources in the healthcare section appeared more prominent. COVID-19 along with the existing economic challenges has intensified the process of medical staff migration in Iran, one of the immigrant sender countries. Investment in the development of expert human resources requires the allocation of large material resources, and wasting the mentioned resources also means giving these experts to the destination countries for free. Identification of different dimensions and the root causes of the migration of expert human resources helps policymakers in making effective decisions. In this study, economic-occupational factors, socio-cultural factors, and obstacles to continuing education were identified as the main factors of medical staff migration.

Abstract
Lower urinary tract problems, including overactive bladder, are one of the most common diseases that increase with age and impose an enormous economic, psychological, and social burden on society. There are pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for this problem. Stimulation of the posterior tibial nerve from the medial malleolus area, which is called percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS), is one of the recommended treatment methods for overactive bladder, which has been recently noticed and applied in the treatment of this disease. In this method, the posterior tibial nerve is stimulated from the lower leg (medial malleolus area) using a needle electrode or a surface electrode during consecutive sessions. This method works based on neuromodulation theory, which is minimally invasive and safe but time-consuming. In the available studies, this method has been able to significantly help patients with overactive bladder without underlying causes or even with underlying causes, such as neurological disorders. Considering the beneficial therapeutic effects of this method, in this study, we decided to review the use of PTNS in urinary problems, including overactive bladder, as well as thoroughly explain its performance and side effects.

Abstract
Despite marked improvements in the health index in recent years, the right to health of millions of people is under increasing threat. The right to health is everyone's right to enjoy the highest attainable physical and mental health standards. It is closely linked to the realization of other human rights. The right to health encompasses access not only to health services but also to economic stability, quality education, employment, housing, suitable living facilities, and other aspects that contribute to health. To overcome these challenges, the theme of World Health Day 2024 has been selected as "My Health, My Right." This year's theme was selected to champion the right of everyone, everywhere, to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as healthy drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, good working and environmental conditions.

Abstract
This year’s World Health Day theme provides an opportunity to further highlight the critical importance of the first 1,000 days of life. The first 1,000 days of life, from pregnancy through a child's second birthday, is considered the first and most important university for every individual. During this period, pregnant mothers and infants require physical, nutritional, and emotional care. The seeds of many non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, infertility, and autism, are sown during this critical time. Social problems, such as alcohol addiction, suicide, and divorce, are also not exempt from this rule. Various countries worldwide are actively raising public awareness about this golden and irreversible period. In Iran, the general public, healthcare providers, and policymakers must also recognize the importance and sensitivity of this vital period. Increased awareness can lead to improved preconception health care, prenatal care, and nurturing care during early childhood. By prioritizing these stages, we pave the way for a brighter future for the next generation. |
