زمینه و هدف: با توجه به اهمیت کیفیت کلی رژیم غذایی در تنظیم فشارخون، این مطالعه با هدف تعیین ارتباط الگوهای غذایی رایج با فشارخون در کودکان و نوجوانان ایرانی انجام شد.
روش تحقیق: این مطالعه مقطعی بر روی 786 کودک و نوجوان ۶ تا ۱۸ ساله ساکن اصفهان که به روش خوشه‌ای تصادفی، بر اساس خوشه‌های مراکز بهداشتی شهر اصفهان، از هر دو جنس در سال 1394-1393 انجام گرفت. اطلاعات غذایی با استفاده از پرسش‌نامه بسامد خوراک نیمه‌کمّی معتبر‌ جمع‌آوری و الگوهای غذایی با استفاده از تحلیل عاملی استخراج شدند. فشارخون سیستولیک (SBP) و دیاستولیک (DBP) با روش استاندارد اندازه‌گیری گردید. ارتباط میان سه الگوی غذایی شناسایی‌شده شامل الگویdietary approach to stop hypertension  (DASH)، الگوی پرسدیم و الگوی ناسالم با فشارخون پس از تعدیل عوامل مخدوشگر بررسی شد.
یافته‌ها: میانگین سنی افراد 36/3±46/12 و 9/50 درصد پسر بودند. پس از تعدیل کلیه عوامل مخدوشگر، الگوی غذایی DASH با میانگین SBP ارتباط معکوس معنی‌داری داشت (به ترتیب از سهک اول تا سوم 65/0±90/104، 65/0±27/103 و 61/0±28/101 میلی‌متر جیوه) (010/0=Pالگوی غذایی ناسالم  با افزایش  SBP  ارتباط معنی داری داشت (سهک اول تا سوم به ترتیب: 56/09±0/102، 55/91±0/103و 67/0±43/104 میلی‌متر جیوه) (48/0=P). الگوی غذایی پرسدیم ارتباط معنی­داری با SBP و DBP نداشت.
نتیجه‌گیری: برای کنترل فشار خون، کیفیت کلی برنامه غذایی از محدود کردن نمک به تنهایی مهم‌تر است، ترویج الگوهای غذایی سالم مشابه DASH و کاهش مصرف غذاهای فرآوری‌شده می‌تواند راهبرد مؤثری برای پیشگیری زودهنگام از پرفشاری خون در کودکان و نوجوانان باشد.
