Eradication of Helicobacter with an effective regimen with low cost and minor side effects is very worthwhile. The aim of this study is to evaluate the rate of Helicobacter Pylori eradication by adding green tea extract to the common 3 drugs regimen consist of amoxicillin, clarithromycin, and pantoprazole in Birjand. Materials and Methods: In this randomized controlled clinical trial study, 30 patients in the case group and 30 Persons in the control group were enrolled. Diagnosis in patients with dyspepsia was performed based on endoscopy or urea breath test according to the clinical setting. The case group was treated with the common 3-drug regimen and green tea extract, and the control group was treated with common 3-drug regimen alone for 14 days. Eight weeks after treatment for Helicobacter Pylori eradication, urea breath test results were compared in two groups. Results: The rate of eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in the addition of green tea to 3 drug regimen based on clarithromycin (experimental group) was 90%, which was 13.7% more than the control group. The rate of eradication in the control group was 76.7%. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of side effects in both experimental and control groups. Conclusion: Although the difference in the degree of eradication in the two groups was not statistically significant, But given the importance of increasing eradication at the limit Add side effects such as bismuth with metronidazole without adding complications And having other beneficial effects of green tea, These results are clinically valuable.
